EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE:
Curator & Producer Short Film Screenings 2004 - present
Coordinate, curate and produce sold out film screenings, at Artist Television Access, the Gay and Lesbian Center and Femina Potens Gallery in San Francisco. Press coverage for these screenings is consistently wonderful with many feature picks. Manage volunteers in all aspects of event production including promotion and technical trainings.
Workshop Coordinator DIY Video & Events Production 2001 & 2005
Coordinated hands-on two-day workshop on video production basics. Created workbook/zine and produced three minutes movies from story to final edit. Taught independent workshops on how to produce events, geared towards young queer people this workshop was presented at several Ladyfest Conferences and at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
Event Producer & Publicist Shanestar Productions 1995 - 2000
Produced five years of Girl Fest live music and poetry, shows in San Francisco and Santa Cruz (94-99) and a six-month performance art series at Herland BookCafe in Santa Cruz. Girl Fest. One of the first independently produced events for women and girls in the Bay Area with over 200 artists performing and over 4,000 people attending. Supervised and managed a diverse group of volunteers in all aspects of event design and coordination including sound engineering, publicity and promotion, and marketing. Received extensive press and interviews in various magazines and newspapers including Cream, SF Weekly, Good Times and Metro Santa Cruz.
